Ashford holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Florida A&M University (FAMU), a master’s degree in Nonprofit Organizations from the University of Georgia (UGA) and a Juris Master from the Emory University School of Law. She is pursuing an advanced degree in Workforce Education and Instructional Technology at UGA.
She has more than 20 years in providing consulting and training services for nonprofits, government agencies, post-secondary institutions and small businesses in the areas of leadership development, board governance, organization creation and development, communication and conflict management.
She is an active member in numerous organizations, including the FAMU National Alumni Association, the National Association of Parliamentarians, the Society for Human Resource Management, the Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action, the Association for Education Communications and Technology, and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.
